RCBC Plaza’s pursuit of LEED EB:OM Gold Certification is not limited to improving the building’s systems and work environs. On May 17, 2017, the building’s Property Management Team, together with a number of tenant representatives, spent the morning with students and administrators of Makati High School for its “Change a Light, Change a Life” and “Reduce, Reuse, & Recycle” Programs.

Students and faculty staff alike were given informative talks on the benefits of using LED lights and the numerous advantages of reducing waste.

Change a Light, Change a Life

To aid Makati High School in a possible migration from regular fluorescent lights to the more cost efficient LED lights, RCBC Plaza donated 50 pcs of LED lights to the school. Sample installations in the school’s classrooms were done by the RCBC Plaza engineering team.

Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle

RCBC Plaza’s Executive Housekeeper, Ms. Aurora Palacio, conducted a brief lecture on how the students can help protect the environment by simply reducing, reusing, and recycling items instead of immediately disposing of them as waste. To further encourage the students in practicing the 3 R’s of waste management, the PMO Team donated refurbished trash bins to Makati High School.
